Since someone decided to ask me about the source for these, they're from a large range of Public Domain sites. Snippet of what Public Domain is from wiki 'Works are in the public domain if they are not covered by intellectual property rights at all, if the intellectual property rights have expired, and/or if the intellectual property rights are forfeited." As for the ones I've used, the photographers have forfeited their rights, and the strange artsy remappable ones are ones made by artists who have died over 70 years ago or they are 120 years old after publication in a book when the original illustrator is unknown, therefore allowing the art to be released into the public domain.
